"Hey, somebody hit the light switch! Turn it back on!".......... Meaux Jeaux's base keeps the beat like your ear on the chest of your lover. Her eyes are closed anyway.... The other strings go silent like marathon runners quitting the race early but still on their knees and still moving ..... Ruby and everybody else is thinking Ky's words were written for them. She'll ask him later....he'll just smile.

"Immigration"...Ace yells as he hits the fire alarm and goes out the private side door and come up thru the BolaMan's shop... and onto the street...

Immigration dudes feel around till they find the light switch........

...then the moody horn of Orleans starts to ricochet from one wall to the next and off the ceiling like a billiard ball in slow motion and everybody started listening like the first time they put on earphones...."yeah man, Orleans, go man!" .....Orleans is thinking about the floating bodies and dehydrated delirious people crowding around him at the Convention Center and wondering how many people he knows are dead because Bush hired his Arabian horse lawyer buddy to head FEMA. Orleans is oblivious to the two big black brothers telling the gun toting crack heads "I'll kill you and your mother if you even touch his sax." The sound is twisted, healing and soothing at the same time.....
